Family day care in Beaconsfield

Small-group, home-based care for families in Beaconsfield and Beaconsfield Upper, just a few minutes from our service office in Berwick.

Room to play, close to home

Beaconsfield sits between Berwick and Officer, with leafy streets, larger blocks and the Cardinia Creek parklands running through it. That suits family day care well. Many educators' homes have big backyards, and children spend a good part of each day outside: digging, planting, climbing and exploring.

Family day care means your child is cared for in a registered educator's home, in a group of no more than seven children, with no more than four under school age. Babies and toddlers get the kind of one-on-one attention that's hard to find in a large centre room, and the same familiar educator every day.

Because we're based in Berwick, Beaconsfield is right on our doorstep. Our coordinators visit educators' homes regularly to support them and check quality, and you can call the office any time with a question.

Flexible hours, by the hour

Educators set their own hours between 6am and 7:30pm on weekdays, with Saturday care from 7am to 7pm. You pay for the hours you book rather than a fixed full-day fee, which helps if you work part-time or shorter days. Beaconsfield station on the Pakenham line and the Princes Highway make early drop-offs before a city commute easy.

Learning through real, everyday things

Our educators use a play-based approach informed by Montessori ideas. Children pour, sort, help prepare snacks and care for plants. These everyday tasks build concentration, coordination and independence.

Everything is planned around the Early Years Learning Framework and Victoria's own early years framework, and educators share your child's progress with you as you go.

Family day care in Beaconsfield: common questions

Do you have educators in Beaconsfield Upper?
We match families from Beaconsfield, Beaconsfield Upper and Guys Hill with educators in and around Beaconsfield, Berwick and Officer. Tell us where you live and the days you need, and we'll find the closest educator with a place.
Can my school-aged child come before and after school?
Yes. Family day care covers children up to 12, and many educators do school drop-off and pick-up for local primary schools. Let us know which school your child attends.
How is family day care different from a childcare centre?
Smaller groups, one consistent educator, a home setting and hourly fees. See our side-by-side guide: family day care vs a childcare centre.
How do I enrol?
Send an enquiry or call 0467 588 621. We'll suggest an educator, arrange a visit to their home and walk you through enrolment.
